Duchy of Saxe-Lauenburg
The King of Denmark controlled the Duchy of Saxe-Lauenburg through a personal union from 1815 through 1864. It was given to him as consolation for losing Norway in the wake of the Napoleonic Wars, since Denmark was on the losing side of that conflict. As the Danes had some control over the duchy during the era in which folk costumes were regularly worn, the region's costumes can be seen as partially Danish.
